Meet Dr. Peter Yi

Orthodontist

Dr. Peter Yi was raised in New York City and received his Bachelor of Science in biology from the State University of New York at Albany. He then received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Stony Brook University in Long Island, where he earned multiple awards and honors, including being the top dental student of his class in his freshman, sophomore and junior years. He was awarded the Leon Einsenbud Award for excellence in oral pathology and oral medicine, the Long Island Academy of Odontology Award for excellence in clinical and academic studies, the Nancy Wender Award of High Achievement for superior performance in the National Board Examination, the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Award, and the William S. Kramer Award of Excellence.

Dr. Yi was also inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon national dental honor society, awarded only to the top three students of his class. Dr. Yi continued his post-doctoral dental studies at the Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, where he received his training in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics.

Dr. Yi is an active member of many professional organizations, including the American Association of Orthodontists, the Southern Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association and the Orthodontic Alumni Society of Columbia University. This helps ensure that Dr. Yi stays up-to-date with the latest advances in orthodontics and dentistry so that his patients can receive the highest standard of service that they deserve.

Dr. Yi is married with a son and daughter. Away from the office, he enjoys traveling, hiking, reading a good book, and spending time with his family and friends. He is also an avid sports fan, closely following the Jets, Mets and Knicks. Dr. Yi is very excited to serve Gainesville and the surrounding communities. He is passionate about bringing amazing smiles to his patients and feels so blessed to be able to do what he loves!
